Educational Programming
At Braata, we believe in the power of interactive experiences to bring about positive change.
Engaging, transformative, and culturally enriching, Braata's educational programs empower diverse communities through interactive experiences that celebrate Caribbean culture, address social justice issues, and promote positive change. Join us on this journey of education and transformation.
ENGAGING OUR COMMUNITIES THROUGH TEACHING
Braata's community-engaging educational programming combines theatre, folk music, and teaching to address cultural preservation and social justice issues. Tailored for diverse ages, programs include lecture demonstrations, workshops, and residencies. Arts-in-education services are provided to schools, civic organizations, community centers, and more. Programs complement performances to engage audiences.
COLLABORATING WITH LOCAL PARTNERS AND ORGANIZATIONS
Collaborating with local partners and organizations, Braata's educational programing addresses social justice and change within the Caribbean Diaspora in the NY Tri-State area. Project BE partners with medical centers, schools, community centers, and more to further educational and social well-being, emphasizing cultural preservation and social justice.
SKILLED TEACHING ARTISTS BRING OUR STORIES TO LIFE
Talented teaching artists lead Braata's applied arts programs, empowering participants through theater workshops, in-school residencies, and music workshops. By engaging Caribbean voices and addressing underrepresentation, Braata fosters positive change and provides a platform for self-expression and growth.
